Target group

This course addresses professionals in service or industrial companies who wish to apply statistical testing and estimation techniques in the context of their duties.

Course contents

This course teaches the basics of statistics in a practical way and without extensive mathematical derivations. Analysis methods and diagram forms are presented by using examples. Simple flow charts facilitate access to statistical test procedures.

The subjects

  • Laws of probability
  • Descriptive statistics
  • Probability distributions
  • Central limit theorem
  • t test family
  • Chi square test family
  • F test and ANOVA
  • Parameter estimates

The training consists of an explanation of the mentioned procedures and possible fields of application. Examples in our standard courses are generally understandable data sets from different application areas.

Requirements

Apart from a general basic understanding of numbers and data, the participants do not need any previous knowledge. In order to benefit fully from the training, the participants should at least know the technical orientation of mathematical statistics and should not be afraid of calculation formulas.

Supplementary courses:
Supplementary courses: To further deepen statistical procedures, we offer our methodology course "Introduction to Statistics - Part 2" (STA2). For the practical implementation of the data analysis with the software Statistica we recommend the course "Statistica Analytics" (ANL1).
